From volunteering in a child's classroom to manning the concession stand
at a Valley soccer game, from actively participating in the Valley School
Parents' Association to sharing the skills of your profession with students
in the classroom or at your place of work--there will always be opportunities
for parents, grandparents, students and friends of Valley to volunteer
their time. In fact, we count on that.
From the school's inception, the involvement of dedicated
volunteers has not only ensured that the school has run smoothly, it
also provides a continual example to our students of the importance
of giving back--to the school, to the community and to each other.
If you are willing and able to volunteer your time
and your talents, please contact the school office for opportunities.
SCRIP is fund-raising system that costs the user
nothing! Dozens of retailers and services are represented in the SCRIP
program. You buy a gift certificate at face value and the retailer returns
a portion of the value back to Valley. In addition to the traditional
ordering process described below, we keep a supply of frequently purchased
cards in the school office. Retailers include Borders, Farmer Jack,
Home Depot, Lowe's, J.C. Penney, five (5!) different gas station brands,
and various fast food restaurants.
If you want to see a listing of participating retailers
nationwide, please look at http://www.glscrip.com/web_reports/WebProdListColumns.html

Order Form
How do I order? SCRIP
certificates may be ordered on a weekly basis. You may
place your order using the Valley Order Form, enclose your check and
turn this in Mondays at the Valley School Office.
When will I receive my order? Orders
are generally available for pick-up on Friday of the
same week. Students may pick up their family's SCRIP
order at the Valley School Office with written approval from the parent.
SCRIP certificates are just like cash and should be treated as such.
Your delivered order will include your merchant certificates, a copy
of your original order form, and a new order form.
How do I pay? Payment must accompany
your order. Either checks or cash are acceptable. We do not take credit
cards. Please make checks payable to: Valley School Parents Association.
What is the cost of the SCRIP certificates?
SCRIP certificates are purchased at face value. There is no minimum
order size and no handling fees are ever charged for small orders. For
Example: A $25 VG's certificate would cost you $25 and is fully redeemable
at all VG's stores for that amount. VG’s provides a 4% discount
to the school. Once purchased, SCRIP certificates may not be returned
to Valley for a refund unless the error was a mistake on the part of
the VSPA volunteer.
Are there SCRIP program updates?
he number of participating merchants in the SCRIP program is constantly
changing. Also, the "percentage of profit" offered by each
merchant is subject to change. As such, we will try to keep you informed
of these changes via Friday notes. On occasion, merchants will have
special promotions and increase their "profit percentages"
for a short period of time. We will also try to alert you to these "specials".
Schoolmall.com
- The Valley school is signed up, so anybody doing online shopping can
check out the hundreds of vendors that will give the Valley School a
percentage of sales just for shopping through this schoolmall vehicle.
Valley will also receive 40% profit on any magazine subscriptions or
renewals through schoolmall. This is an easy ongoing fundraiser with
no product and no distribution and requires no forethought except to
shop through schoolmall.com. If you are a scrip user, you can also pay
for your online purchase with scrip if you'd like and the Valley School
receives a double benefit!
Meijer Rewards
Do you shop at Meijer? If so, you can earn money for the school. We
receive between 1-4% of monthly household purchases above $100. Each
household receives 3 cards. Family and friends can also participate
by signing up and designating their rewards credited to The Valley School.
Inquire at the office about getting an application and to find out which
purchases are included.
Cell Phone and Printer Cartridge Collection
Cell phones and empty printer cartridges can be (and have been) turned
in for money. Please bring yours to the main office at the school.
Box Tops for Education
Turn in your General Mills Products Box Tops (a full list of eligible
products is at www.boxtops4education.com) to the office. Each box top
is worth ten cents. If you have any questions, call Casey Custer. This
is an on-going fundraiser, so keep saving your box tops.
Campbell Soup labels
Campbell's Soup has a program that rewards school s for collecting labels
from their products. If you bring them in, we can redeem them for classroom
materials. Just bring them in to the main office. It's more than just
soup labels -- a full list of eligible items can be found at the Campbell's
website (copy and paste this link): http://www.labelsforeducation.com/eligible_products.asp
VG's receipts
Be sure to save all of your, your friends', and your relatives' receipts
from VG's. It is a year round event. Last year we earned $1400. Please
turn them in at the school office.
